Vacancy – Competitions Manager, Munster

The Munster Branch Irish Rugby Football Union (MBIRFU) is currently accepting applications for the position of Competitions Manager.

The Competitions Manager will be responsible for establishing and implementing all Club and Age Grade Competition structures within Munster Rugby. The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to operate within an ambitious, challenging and successful rugby environment and we are looking to hear from candidates who can: 

• Effectively manage and administer all Branch competitions and fixtures at all levels
• Design and deliver an efficient competition system to all levels within the current (and any new) competition model
• Maintain effective relationships with the IRFU, all clubs and staff
• Effectively manage all disciplinary matters, objections and appeals
• Work with a sub-committee in circumstance similar to the AIL and refer relevant cases to the Disciplinary Committee (or equivalent), if required

The successful candidate will have:

• Ability to manage and be responsible for all rugby competitions and fixtures in Munster
• A comprehensive knowledge of the competition structure within  Irish Rugby
• Strong communication, leadership and presentation skills
• Competent in Excel, Word, Internet, and Email
• An ability to build strong working relationships with all stakeholders
• A positive and proactive approach to working within the game of rugby
• Ability to work on own initiative, be self motivated, assertive and flexible
