It’s More Than Tuesday November 18th…

The Zurich Challenge Match between Munster and New Zealand in Thomond Park on Tuesday November 18th is the highlight of a four day programme of events being run by Munster Rugby and Thomond Park Stadium to celebrate the Official Opening of the stadium.

Tickets for this Zurich Challenge game are completely sold out as Thomond Park prepares to stage Munster’s first full capacity match (25,600) since it re-opened to competitive rugby earlier this month.

The four day programme of events kicks off on the Saturday prior (15th) when supporters can watch the Ireland v New Zealand game on big screens in The Dugout- the new venue in the East Stand of Thomond Park. Ticket holders will be treated to entertainment, finger food and the opportunity to win match tickets to Tuesday’s game as well as other prizes. Tickets available here.

On Sunday 16th November, four members of the New Zealand squad will officially open the flagship Munster Rugby Store, as well as the Munster Interactive Museum in the East Stand of the stadium. Immediately afterwards online prizewinners will get to meet the four New Zealand squad members at a special signing session in the stadium.  Enter the Exclusive Online Competition here.

Later that evening, Munster Rugby guests and prizewinners will attend the world renowned “Alone It Stands” by Lane Productions in LIT’s Millennium Theatre in the evening, commemorating the famous Munster win over the All Blacks in 1978.

On Monday November 17th, the ever popular Munster Rugby Breakfast Briefing – a regular feature in past seasons- will take place in the Main Hospitality Suite in the East Stand of the stadium. Munster Rugby’s Tony McGahan and New Zealand Coach Graham Henry will be joined by players from both teams who will be answering questions from the floor in a Q&A session over breakfast. The event, which kicks off at 7.30am will also feature a presentation from Steve Tormey, Sales & Marketing Director of Toyota Ireland. Proceeds from the event will be donated to St. Gabriel’s School and Centre, Limerick. Buy tickets online here.

And finally, on Tuesday November 18th, An Taoiseach Brian Cowen and IRFU President John Lyons will officially open Thomond Park Stadium ahead of the Munster v New Zealand Zurich Challenge match (kick off 7.30pm).

Those without a match ticket on the night will get the opportunity to soak up the match atmosphere by watching live screenings of the game in The Dugout, in the lower level of the East Stand of Thomond Park Stadium.  With live entertainment, music, finger food and more, all close to the action.  Buy tickets online here.
