With eight Academy Players and three Sub-Academy players involved in Wednesday’s A game it highlighted just how important the A games are to the up and coming players of Munster Rugby.

The academy members rarely get to line out with each other and to do so in an environment where they are playing with and against senior representative players is only of benefit to their personal development.

When they get the opportunity they need to make the most of it in the hopes of securing a professional rugby career beyond the academy structure.

Academy player Scott Deasy who plays his club rugby with UCC scored the opening two tries and fellow Academy player Tommy O’Donnell, UL Bohs, also got on the scoresheet with a try in the second half. Sub-Academy player Mike Sherry wrapped matters up with the two closing tries of the game.
