An opportunity to honour one of Irelands Great Sporting Heroes, support a worthy charity and play with some of the great names of the Irish sporting and entertainment world. A novel format will bring celebrities and playing partner from Munster and Leinster in fourball matches.

The event will be staged on the Palmer Course (venue for 2006 Ryder Cup) on Monday 13th July with a morning and afternoon shotgun. After the golf there will be a full entertainment Gala Dinner in the KClub Hotel. The Charities benefiting from all proceeds will be the IRFU Charitable Trust and the Stuart Mangan Appeal.

Moss Keane

Perhaps one of the most iconic figures in Irish sport over the last 30 years, the much loved and revered Moss Keane played 52 times for Ireland at a time when there were not as many opportunities to win caps as there are nowadays and whose swashbuckling attitute to the game endeared him to enthusiasts all over the world.

The great and affable Kerryman also had a passion for Gaelic Football but it was in rugby that he achieved his greatest goals.

His friends are delighted to have an opportunity on the 13th of July to get together and to salute his illustrious career and this will take the form of a golf match – arranged in fact before that great rugby clash in Croke Park – of Munster v Leinster.

Golf days in recent times tend to be team events but this one will feature a series of matches of Munster v Leinster and golfers will have the opportunity to don their interprovincial shirt and team up with a celebrity to play for their province. We are delighted as in fitting tribute to Moss that the two most recent captains of the Lions, Paul O’Connell and Brian O’Driscoll have agreed to captain respectively Munster and Leinster, so we could not ask for two greater leaders on the day.

Golfers will have the opportunity on the day to play with some of the greatest rugby, gaelic and soccer sports people of all descriptions and also all the top figures from the entertainment world. It will be a wonderful day of golf when people will have the opportunity to mix with the greats and that night to sit down and have dinner and be entertained by some of the greats of Irish show business.

A wonderful day and we also will have the opportunity through Moss’s great influence to raise a significant sum of money for two worthy charities. Money on the day will not be going to Moss himself but will be offered to two great causes, The Charitable Trust and the Stuart Mangan Appeal – both causes dear to Moss’s heart.

A great opportunity to pay tribute to a legend.
