Hayes and Quinlan Included in Munster Squad

John Hayes and Alan Quinlan are both included in the 25 strong Munster squad announced this morning for the Magners League clash with Cardiff Blues in Thomond Park Stadium on Friday night (7.05).

Because he was a late call up to the Lions, Hayes returns to the squad ahead of the other Munster Lions while Quinlan’s 12 week suspension for the incident in the semi-final of the Heineken Cup, ends on Wednesday.

Team Manager Shaun Payne however refused to be drawn on whether or not either would be included in the match day squad. “At this stage both are included in the extended squad,” Payne said in UL today, ” we’ll wait and see how things go in training tomorrow. But it has to be remembered that in match terms these two are four games behind the other players in the squad.

Payne confirmed that Paul Warwick is suffering from a foot ligament injury that will keep him sidelined for the next two to three weeks while Ian Dowling continues to be troubled by a knee injury with no definite date being given for the Kilkennyman’s return.

Munster: Danny Barnes, Felix Jones, Scott Deasy, Denis Hurley, Doug Howlett, Barry Murphy, Tom Gleeson, Lifeimi Mafi, Jeremy Manning, Toby Morland, Peter Stringer, Marcus Horan, Tony Buckley, Julian Brugnaut, John Hayes, Denis Fogarty, Damian Varley, Mick O’Driscoll, Donnacha Ryan, Alan Quinlan, Billy Holland, Tommy O’Donnell, Niall Ronan, Denis Leamy, James Coughlan.
