It’ll Be Northampton Again

Unless there is an extraordinary result today form Edgeley Park where Sale Sharks entertain Toulouse, Munster will play Northampton Saints again the Heineken Cup quarter finals in April.

As things stand Munster are top seed while Northampton are number eight and that will remain the same unless Toulouse score eight tries in Sale this afternoon to edge Munster out of  top spot.

In the event of that happening then it’s the Ospreys who would be coming to Limerick in April.

Leinster are also sure of a home quarter final their opponents will not be known until after the games today but if Biarritz were to win with a bonus and Toulouse win Sale then Leinster would be home to Clermont Auvergne.

However were Toulouse to lose then Leinster would entertain Stade Francais, an altogether better option if the defending champions are to progress to the semi final.

And the make up of those semi finals will be known this evening with the draw being made in Paris when the result from Edgeley Park is known
