Stringer Surprise Omission

Despite a Man of the Match performance against Edinburgh on Friday night there is no place for Peter Stringer in the Ireland squad named for the RBS Six Nations game against England next Saturday.

Of the Irish scrumhalves who saw Magners League action this weekend, Stringer was the most impressive, his quick fire service against Edinburgh central to Munster’s 19-12 victory.

The squad assemble this evening in Dublin and the team and replacements will be announced on Tuesday afternoon.
