Fourth Title For Toulouse

Even though they won the try count one nil, Biarritz lost the Heineken Cup final 21-19 today in Paris to Toulouse who were claiming the title for the fourth time.

The winners looked to be comfortably in control when David Skrela’s 65th minute penalty kick pushed his side into a nine point lead. (21-12). However with just under eight minutes left to play, Biarritz centre Karmichael Hunt scored a breakaway try that, in the absence of the immaculate Dimitri Yachvilli, Vincent Courrent converted, to give the Basque side a lifeline and ensure a tense closing stage.

Toulouse held their nerve admirably as Biarritz threw everything at them and in the end used their pack to close out a game that saw them land three drop goals in the course of their, overall,  deserved victory
