Introducing Wian du Preez

Dipped his toe in the water last season when Marcus Horan was out injured and liked the temperature. Now back on a two year contract, Wian du Preez has settled into Limerick and Munster Rugby as if he’d never left.

Place of birth: Bloemfontein, South Africa.

Now living: Limerick.

Educated: B Comm. Economics Degree from University of the Free State.           

First started playing rugby: Age 6.

Sportsperson admire most: Ernie Els.

Career highlight to date: Test debut v Italy.

Favourite other sport: Cricket:

Favourite team outside rugby: Ferrari F1 Team.

Hobbies outside rugby: Reading.

Best part of being a pro footballer: Travelling and visiting new places.

Worst part of being a pro footballer: Injuries.

Person you would most like to meet. Nelson Mandela.

Person you would avoid at all costs. Ghosts.

Pet hate: Standing in line and waiting.

Favourite Food: Pizza.

Sporting event you'd most like to attend: Monaco Grand Prix.

Best place you've visited: Phuket, Thailand.

Plans for when rugby career is over: Farming/Business.
