Murphy On The Mend
25th October 2010 By Munster Rugby
Barry Murphy who has been out of the Munster squad since September of last year through injury made a welcome return to action when he played for his club UL Bohemians in Annacotty on Saturday.
Murphy came on for the second half and marked his return with a crucial try in UL Bohs 19-9 victory over Lansdowne. Murphy reported no ill-effects afterwards and could come into the reckoning when the squad for the game against Ulster is named.
That squad is likely to include Peter Stringer and if it does and he takes part then he becomes the third Munster player to reach the 200th competitive cap mark. The other two being Alan Quinlan and current Defence Coach Anthony Foley.
Meanwhile Jerry Flannery is looking at a four week spell on the sidelines following further medical examination. Flannery who traveled to Liverpool last Friday could yet feature in the November international series.
