Ireland’s Centurions, John Hayes, Ronan O’Gara and Brian O’Driscoll were honoured for their achievement at the Rugby Writers of Ireland Annual Dinner at the Aviva Stadium last night
The annual event drew the largest crowd in its twenty odd year history and Chairman of the Rugby Writers Brendan Fanning was never going to let the opportunity of getting a gentle dig at the IRFU go, when he said they (RWI) showed that it was indeed possible to sell out the Aviva.
Tommy Bowe received the Player of the Year Award and naturally Cork Constitution were well represented to receive their Club of the Year Award.
Pat O'Keeffe last year's President accepted he award on the club's behalf and he was accompanied to the Awards night by current President Der O'Riordan, Director of Rugby Jerry Holland and Jack O'Sullivan
