Williams Delighted To Be Back

UL welcomed back a favourite old face when Jim Williams arrived at the campus earlier today with his Australian colleagues for a run out soon after their arrival from London.

Williams was clearly delighted to be back in his old stomping ground, “It's fantastic, he said, ” it's been a couple of years and a lot has changed, especially the drive we took out here, the roads and everything, but pretty familiar once I got back onto the ground and saw the area and the training pitch.”

And that's not all that's changed with the Thomond Park he remembers well consigned to history, albeit a rich one. “I haven't been there yet. I've only seen it on telly. It'll be great to get out there and actually see it, and to get out on the pitch again.”

There'll be no-one better placed to advise his charges but Williams believes there's a certain amount that they'll have to learn for themselves.”I'll be letting them suck it in. It's hard to describe that kind of atmosphere, especially with the 20000 that are going to be there, it's a bit different as I've only been there with 15000 so it's going to be fantastic, the boys will thoroughly enjoy it.”

Williams admits he's looking forward to the game tomorrow night. “It'll be great. It's an important step for us coming off a disappointing loss against England. These boys started off well the other week against Leicester so they'll want to keep that going. There'll be plenty of passion on both sides, our boys are gelling well together and they're going to come up against a bunch of guys that want to play for each other so it will be a great tussle.”
