Hayes Gets The 18 Slot

Former CBC Avonmore Schools Cup winning captain Brian Hayes has been named as a replacement on the Munster side for the Sony Ericsson Challenge Match with Australia at Thomond Park Stadium.

The Cork Constitution lock who played in the AIL League game against Dolphin last Saturday in Temple Hill comes into the match day squad in place of Alan Quinlan who continues to be troubled with a hamstring injury.

Twenty year old Hayes made a brief appearance for Munster in the pre-season friendly game against Sale Sharks in August 2009 and has won international honours at Schools, Under 19 and Under 20 level.

Meanwhile, it was announced today that Donnacha Ryan will face an independent Six Nations Disciplinary Committee in London tomorrow having been cited for an alleged stamping incident in the game against Samoa last Saturday.

Replacements: Mike Sherry, Stephen Archer, Brian Hayes, Tommy O'Donnell, Conor Murray, Scott Deasy, Barry Murphy.
