Busy & Defining Period Looms

Two weeks that could define Munster’s season begin on Saturday when Anthony Foley takes his British & Irish Cup side to Melrose and that’s followed by the Heineken Cup clash with Ospreys the following day.

Foley's side who reached the final of the competition in its inaugural season with an unbeaten record, were defeated on home soil in their opening game against Llanelli and need to get something from the trip to Melrose if they're to maintain interest in reaching the business end of the competition.

He will name an extended squad tomorrow after training after Tony McGahan names his Heineken Cup squad.

This time around Foley's squad face an exacting schedule with the trip to Scotland followed a week later with oner to Bristol and then they face a third trip successive trip to Britain with a January engagement in Nottingham.

There's a 1pm kick off in Thomond Park Stadium on Sunday and once again stadium officials are fully confident the game will go ahead despite the inclement weather conditions.
