Botha Signs
25th February 2011 By Munster Rugby
Munster today confirmed that they have completed terms with BJ Botha – subject to the usual procedure of him passing medical and fitness tests and securing a valid work permit – that will see him join on a two year contract starting at the end of the current season.
The World Cup winning tight head prop who celebrated his 31st birthday last month, is currently in his third season with Ulster. He played Super 14 with the Sharks and was capped 26 times by South Africa after making his debut against the All Blacks in Pretoria in 2006. He last played for the Sprinboks against Australia in the Tri Nations game played in Brisbane last July.
Commenting on the news Munster coach Tony McGahan said, “”We are delighted that BJ Botha has opted to join Munster. He is a player of the highest calibre who we believe will add significantly to our squad.”
