Newcastle West Win West Munster Junior Cup

Newcastle West SMI beat Tarbert 20-12 in the final of the West Munster Junior cup last Thursday in Abbeyfeale RFC.

A closely contested final had Tarbert take a 12-0 half time lead thanks to an impressive performance from man of the match Owen Holly.

After half time a harder working SMI back row and good variations from the out half, James Genia kept putting their team on the front foot.

With scores coming at a regular interval, SMI were soon in a winning position and with the out half comfortably kicking penalties opportunities and an outstanding drop goal the spoils went to SMI.
