Munster Supporters Nail Their Colours To The Red Mast
20th May 2011 By Munster Rugby
Munster supporters have nailed their colours firmly to the red mast when, after swallowing up half of Leinster’s ticket allocation they then bought the remaining 500 tickets (Adult Terrace) within five minutes of them going on sale this afternoon to make the Magners Grand Final a sell out eight days before kick off.
Added seating brings the capacity up to 26,100 for next Saturday's Grand Final clash with Leinster with Munster Sales & Marketing Manager Glyn Billinghurst paying tribute to what he termed, 'Munster's unjustly maligned fans'.
“They've (Munster fans) been criticised in some quarters in recent weeks, wrongly in my opinion, and have responded brilliantly. Their critics forget that over the course of three games recently, in the space of four weeks, nearly 57,000 turned up to support the team and now once again, despite the recessionary times we're living in, they're voting with their feet and their wallets.”
Leinster didn't take their full allocation and these were snapped up by Munster supporters one of whom, Paul Reals from Limerick, became the One Millionth Magners League ticket purchaser and earned himself a Hospitality Ticket Package at the final.
