Musgrave Park New Stand In Use On Friday

Just ten weeks after the old structure was demolished, the new temporary stand at Musgrave Park will be in use for tomorrow’s game against London Wasps.

The project, managed by Musgrave Park Facilities Manager Ian Dunne, sees a structure with a seated capacity of 2900  that includes an area for wheelchairs and press seating.

Planning permission had been granted for a permanent stand, however, the downturn in the economic climate forced those plans to be shelved while the planning permission for the temporary stand runs for two years after which it is hoped to put the permanent structure in place.

The project is cost neutral for the Munster Branch as the additional revenue for the seating covers the cost of the erection and hire of the stand.

Following on from tomorrow's game, Musgrave Park will host four games in the RaboDirect Pro12 League.
