Munster Rugby Academy Update

The recently advertised vacancy for a Munster Rugby Elite Player Development Manager has now been filled with UCC and Munster U20s former head coach Conor Twomey securing the role.

The Elite Player Development Manager (formerly Academy Manager) will oversee the strategies and long-term objectives of the elite player development pathway in Munster.

Cork man Conor Twomey has coached the UCC Senior XV for the past five seasons, and has held the positions of assistant coach and head coach for a number of sides including Munster U20s, Munster U19s and Irish Universities.

Also joining the Academy management is former Garryowen F.C. Director of Rugby Greig Oliver, taking over the position of Elite Player Development Officer vacated by Ray Egan who is emigrating to the U.S.

Greig worked with the Limerick senior club for four years, has coached the Munster U19s and is currently involved with the Munster U20s representative side. He has also worked with the Scottish Rugby Union in similar roles.
