Scarlets Put Themselves Right Back In The Rabo Mix
15th April 2012 By jess
Scarlets put themselves right back in the mix for a shot at the RaboDirect PRO12 play-offs with 26-23 win over Aironi today in northern Italy.
That leaves Munster vying with Glasgow Warriors, Ulster and now Scarlets for the two remaining play-off spots.
And next up for Munster is a trip to Llanelli next Saturday.
This afternoon in Stadio Zaffanella, Scarlets led 16-6 at half-time but had been pegged back to 16 all by the 52nd minute.
Tries then from Liam Williams and Ben Morgan edged them ten points clear. But the bonus try proved a bridge too far, the home side instead scoring late, a try from Giulio Toniolatti to earn a losing bonus point.
Next weekend, third placed Warriors take on Treviso in Stadio di Monigo and fourth placed Ulster are home to already qualified (in top place) Leinster.
Ospreys kick off the weekend's proceedings on Friday at home to Dragons and with a final game to follow against Aironi (away), victory against their Gwent neighbours should ensure a home semi final for the Swansea side.
In Parc Y Scarlets, the home side know that nothing less than a win will do if they're to be playing in the semi final.
