The squad gathered in CIT today for their second full training session under the watchful eye of new Head Coach Rob Penney.

Afterwards Penney joined Backs Coach Simon Mannix and Team Manager Niall O'Donovan for the first press conference of the season.

From his previous academy roles Rob is a strong believer in developing young talent and believes Munster have the right mix going forward.

"There are a number of quality young men coming through which is important for the growth of the game in the province, and in Ireland. I love to coach, being able to see the growth and development of young men, and hopefully watch them achieve their goals and aspirations is what excites me."

"If I do a really good job here they should achieve their goals also."

Simon Mannix, on making the move from France, said he was privileged to be involved with Munster, "I'm part of a club that has a wonderful reputation with huge respect from around the world."
