All To Play For

The Munster A side continue their representation in the British and Irish Cup when they take on Aberavon on Saturday at 2.30pm at the Talbot Athletic Grounds.

The Munster A side will depart for Bristol on Friday while the Heineken Cup squad travel to Edinburgh on Saturday.

Costello's side recorded a win against the Welsh side in October in Kerry but finished out their 2012 season with a below par performance against English Championship side Rotherham Titans at Musgrave Park.

Ivan Dineen was involved in both of those games and is more than aware of Munster's position going int o the round 5 game, "It was a hard fought win in Tralee, they were very physical and tough but we just need to stick to our game plan for the return clash, and we need to be a lot more effective on the day."

"Drawing with Rotherham at home was a disappointment and I think it was a lack of us doing things we should have been doing and executing what was in the game plane. I guess the week before we were misguided by the fact that we scored three tries in ten minutes when they had a guy off. And a week later we the players were complacent at how good they were, and just went in with the wrong frame of mind, so it was a good wake-up call and just what we needed going into the next round."

"The pool is still in our control but we need to get a win to maintain that."

"Aberavon are a huge side from 1 to 15. When you play in the wide areas you are going to get tested out there. As a back, for me, when rucking out in the wide areas we have to be efficient and match them physically and just front up."

"We have every confidence we can win on the road so I don’t think that presents an issue for us, our away performances have actually been better than our home form this season but we can’t rest on that and I’m sure Aberavon will be looking to impress in front of their home support."

"We recognise this weekend’s game is a 100% must win and we want to stay on top, in control of the group and at this stage you either win or you’re out!"
