Commercial Board Appointed

Munster Rugby today announced the creation of a new Non-Executive Commercial Board to provide strategic guidance, advice and support to the existing Branch Committee structures and management team.

The Chairman will be Niall FitzGerald KBE, who grew up in Limerick and has become one of Ireland’s most respected global business figures.

FitzGerald was formerly Chairman and CEO of Unilever, Chairman of Reuters and is current Chairman of the British Museum.

Alongside the appointment of Munster Rugby standing committee chairmen, other appointments to the Board include leading figures from the international stage of technology, communications, philanthropy and retail including Patrick Coveney (Greencore), David Cronin (UL Foundation), Leslie Buckley (Independent News & Media), Tony Keohane (Tesco) and Ken Murphy (Boots).

Welcoming the new Board, Munster Rugby CEO, Garrett Fitzgerald stated “We are delighted to welcome these international business leaders and Munster natives to Munster Rugby and look forward to their input. Niall FitzGerald is an exceptional Chairman with a wealth of commercial experience and we hugely appreciate him engaging with Munster Rugby.”
