Stringer To Remain At Bath

Peter Stringer will remain with Bath Rugby for the remainder of the currrent season

Confirming the news today a statement read, "Following discussion between Munster Rugby and Bath Rugby and with the player’s representative, it has been agreed that Peter Stringer will remain with the Aviva Premiership club for the remainder of the current season.

Stringer (35) joined Bath Rugby in January when the opportunity to play first team rugby consistently for Munster wasn’t forthcoming and as that situation still pertains, all parties are happy for that arrangement to continue.

Meanwhile Munster have welcomed the outcome of a case involving their player Danny Barnes over a hotel incident in 2008. A High Court action against the player was struck out and settled without admission of liability.

Responding to the outcome Garrett Fitzgerald CEO Munster Rugby said “ We’re happy the case has finally been settled. We’ve always had confidence in the integrity of Danny Barnes and were equally satisfied with his account of events that night and satisfied now that the charges brought against Danny and Munster Rugby have been struck out.”
