Injury Rules O’Connell Out

The British and Irish Lions have confirmed that Paul O’Connell has suffered a tour ending injury.

O'Connell who played an immense role in Saturday's 23-21 victory against the Wallabies will take no further part in the test series.

Paul suffered an injury blow to his arm in the 1st test and following further assessment a specialist in Brisbane confirmed that he has an undisplaced fracture of his lower right arm. No decision has been made on whether O’Connell will leave or stay with the squad.

The Lions take on the Melbourne Rebels tomorrow at AAMI Park (10.40am in Ireland) and the side includes Conor Murray and Simon Zebo.
