Great up and coming event in the club house this coming weekend for local charity Katies Dream. So why not check"Munster out the cricket and support a very worthy cause.

We also have a couple of club fundraisers starting with the bank holiday Sunday night when we will all tog out in our shirts and shades for a great beech party – entry is only €3, prizes for best dressed along with some great games.

Following on then for all you cyclists out there – interested in taking part in a 100k cycle on the 17th of August, why not contact the club for sponsorship cards or entry fee information. Starting at the club and finishing back for refreshments and fun.

The club itself has been very busy this week while some of our youths are taking part in the Munster Rugby Camps – they were joined on Wednesday by a couple of the Munster Team which was of great excitement to the kids themselves.

Our tag tournament is due to begin in the next couple of weeks so please keep an eye on our face book page.
Pre-season is getting under way for our J1 and J2 teams, and the ladies are about to get going. We are always looking for new members so please feel free to contact the club for information on training times.

Looking forward to seeing some of you over the next couple of weeks.

Listowel RFC's pre-season is well under way. Strength and Conditioning training has been going on throughout the summer starting on May 29th last. IRFU certified strength and conditioning coach Mark Thompson has been delighted with the progress all the players have made. On average forty youths and thirty seniors have been training each week.

This season Listowel RFC will have U14's, U16's and U18's all competing in the West Munster League and Cup. Their U18's have reached the Pan Munster section of the league for the last three seasons and this season plan to go one step further and reach the knock out stages.

The senior team will compete in the South Munster Junior Two League, The Moss Keane Cup and the Galway/Foley Cup. Senior coach Tom Bradley is very excited about the coming season "This year is the first year that Listowel Seniors have trained throughout the summer and I have great expectations for this year's squad" quoted Tom.

Last season Listowel RFC had over fifty registered "Mini" players and it already looks like that number will substantially grow for the 2013/14 season. For the first time in their 113 year history the club is delighted to announce that they will now be fielding all girl youth teams. Last season they had ten girls playing in the "mini" section but now they have expanded and intend on fielding both U15's and U18's teams. The girls have also been training throughout the summer with over thirty girls already registered. "Director of Girls Rugby" Kieran Reilly is thrilled with the turnout each week and Listowel RFC will have the only girls youth teams in the North Kerry area.
