Arsenal Stars Show Support For Munster

Arsenal stars Lukas Podolski, Santi Cazorla and Mesut Ozil have shown their support for Munster ahead of tomorrow’s Heineken Cup clash with Perpignan.

Germans Podolski and Ozil are pictured with Spaniard Cazorla holding a 'G'wan Munster' sign on Podolski's Twitter page.

The football players are decked out in their Munster gear and Podolski is even wearing a scrum cap with 'Stand Up And Fight' written on the front.

The image has gone viral with the original post getting over 1,500 retweets and many websites reporting the story about Munster's latest fans.

The football stars' new-found love for the province may have something to do with ex-Munster player Jerry Flannery's role with the Arsenal strength and conditioning team.

Flannery was believed to be involved when Podolski and Cazorla were pictured ahead of the All-Ireland Hurling Final between Cork and Clare with an 'Up The Banner' sign but shortly after the incident Flannery distanced himself from the gesture and told Joe.ie:

"I wasn’t responsible for the ‘Up The Banner’ picture of Lukas Podolski and Santi Cazorla that appeared online last Saturday.

"The facts are that the two lads are massive hurling fans and I’m fairly sure Santi has a mobile home in Kilkee whilst Podolski is often seen surfing in Lahinch. They’re practically Clare men."

We can only assume that they made a trip to Thomond Park or Musgrave Park on their last visit to their adopted home!
