UCC kept their promotion hopes alive in Division 2A and Nenagh Ormond made it eight wins from eight in Division 2B.
There were two Munster derbies in Division 2A. At the Mardyke U.C.C. defeated Cashel 28-10 to keep their outside promotion challenge alive. Tries from Rory Slater and Charlie O’Regan and a conversion and two penalties by Sean Og Murphy had the students 18-0 ahead at half time.
Brendan and Pat O’Connor scored tries for Cashel in between a third penalty from Og Murphy. Kevin Kidney wrapped up the scoring with a try which Murphy converted.
Highfield defeated Old Crescent 13-12 in their bottom of the table clash at Rosbrien. Sean Quaid scored a try for the winners and Ian O’Donoghue kicked a conversion and two penalties. Alan beanie and Shane Mullally scored tries for Crescent and Kevin Meade kicked a conversion.
Bruff are still looking for their first win as they lost at home to Galwegians 48-20. Donny Bannon scored a try, penalty and conversion for Bruff and John Clery C Tierney scored tries.
In Division 2B Nenagh Ormond had 24-20 away win over Sligo to stay top.
Thomond lost valuable ground when Skerries defeated them 13-5.
Richmond staged a dramatic late rally to beat Ards 22-16 with fifteen minutes remaining. The Limerick side trailed 13-12 with only thirteen players on the pitch. Ger Meehan and Stephen Clancy scored late tries the secure a bonus point victory. Meehan and Eoin Hurley also scored tries and Darragh Clancy kicked a conversion.
Sundays Well continued their recent good run with a 23-13 home win over DLSP. Michael Moynihan scored a try and the ‘Well were also awarded a penalty try. Shane O’Riordan kicked two conversions and three penalties.
Midleton slipped further down the table after their 12-0 away defeat by Tullamore.
