Cork Constitution Set To Defend All Ireland Cup Title
17th January 2014 By Munster Rugby
This weekend sees the semi finals of the Ulster Bank Bateman All-Ireland Cup with defending champions Division 1A side Cork Constitution taking on Division 2A side Queens tomorrow, 18th January (kick-off 2.30pm) in Temple Hill.
Con won the Munster Senior Challenge Cup last December with an extra time penalty win over Garryowen and they will be more than keen to retain the Bateman Cup which currently takes pride of place in their trophy cabinet.
With six wins and four try bonuses to date Queens are in good form in Division 2A with just four points behind leaders Galwegians – who are in the other semi final. Queens beat Ballynahinch in the Ulster Senior Cup final to book their place in the All-Ireland semis.
In the second semi final Division 1 side UCD host Division 2A league leaders Galweigians at Belfield.
