Musgrave Park To Host Il Divo In June

The City of Cork Symphony Orchestra has today announced a major concert for Cork to be staged at Musgrave Park this summer.

The orchestra will be joined by the world’s leading classical crossover quartet Il Divo as the superstars perform at a fully seated 5-hour event at Musgrave Park, on Midsummer’s Night (Saturday, 21 June 2014) at 6.00pm.

Tickets go on sale from this Saturday, February 1st, at 9am through Ticketmaster and Pro-Musica Cork.

Tim Lucey, Cork’s City Manager congratulated the Orchestra on attracting Il Divo to Cork, and commended Munster Rugby and Musgrave Park representatives on their foresight in making the impressive stadium available for such a concert, stating: “Having high profile international superstars of such a stellar calibre performing in Cork continues to prove Cork’s capacity to host events of this nature.

“Having them perform with our much-loved City of Cork Symphony Orchestra on such a grand scale in a fully seated event at Musgrave Park also recognises the world class quality of the Cork cultural and musical product and profile. Congratulations to all those involved.”

This is a fully seated event, catering to 14,500 concert goers. A first for Musgrave Park, the stadium will have full bar and catering facilities and corporate entertainment facilities to enhance enjoyment of the concert and a park in ride system will be in operation to provide a seamless and well-organised event which is fully supported by Cork City Council and other stakeholders.

Tickets for this concert are priced at €;75 and will be available on ticketmaster.ie from Saturday 1st, February at 9am, or can be purchased at Pro-Musica, Oliver Plunkett St., Cork (021) 4271659 from that date also.
