A gritty performance by Castletroy saw them finish stronger in the final quarter against 14-man Rockwell who had wing forward Tommy Anglim red-carded midway through the second half.

Conor Linehan opened the scoring with a penalty for Castletroy after two minutes but two penalties by Rockwell skipper Aidan Moynihan had the Tipperary side in front after seven minutes.

Tries by Conor Humphreys and David Rowsome put Castletroy 13-6 ahead at half time.

Rockwell drew level early in the second half with a try from prop Brendan Quinlan which Moynihan converted.
