Mini Coaching Course At CSN
29th January 2014 By Munster Rugby
The Munster Rugby Coaching development department recently hosted an IRFU stage 1 (Mini) coaching course in Cork’s Coláiste Stiofáin Naofa with 37 coaches in attendance for this two-day course.
The course content included indoor modules, role of the coach, teaching skills, planning and organisation methodology and a mini refereeing accreditation module.
The outdoor practicals included core skill development and coaching in the areas of passing and receiving, tackle, ruck, and the development of unit skills in the scrum and line-out.
This was also the first course to initiate the new coaching accreditation on concussion where all coaches attending had to complete the IRB concussion module online as part of their accreditation process.
Munster Rugby will also be hosting mini (Stage 1) and foundation (Stage 2) IRFU coaching courses this weekend in the University of Limerick and will also be co-ordinating a Stage 2 course in Clonmel at the end of February (limited places available).
