Munster A To Play Connacht Eagles Next Friday
30th January 2014 By Munster Rugby
Munster A will travel to the Sportsgrounds to face Connacht Eagles next Friday at 2:30pm.
The game will be Munster A’s second clash against Connacht this season ahead of the B&I Cup quarter-final against Leinster in April and Head Coach Peter Malone is looking forward to seeing his side back in action.
“I think it’s very important we get some game-time into the guys,” said Malone.
“Obviously any interprovincial is competitive and we want to win, but it’s also an opportunity to see guys we might be using in the B&I Cup quarter-final who haven’t played that much.
“We’ll be looking to get playing time for academy and senior players and getting them back into the Munster mindset again after a few weeks off,” he added.
The game was set to take place after the Six Nations but has been re-scheduled for next Friday and it will be the second meeting of the sides this season after Munster A overcame the Eagles on a 20-12 scoreline in Malone’s first match as Head Coach back in September.
The side have followed that up with five wins out of six in the B&I Cup to set up the quarter-final clash against Leinster on the first weekend of April.
