Shane Buckley scored the match-winning try in the final quarter as Peter Malone's Munster A side made it seven wins out of eight for the season.

Connacht opened the scoring with two Miah Nikora penalties before Mata Fifita touched down for the first try of the game with Nikora adding the extras to give the Eagles a 13-0 lead.

Academy player Darren Sweetnam claimed a well-taken intercept try just before the half with Johnny Holland off-target with the conversion to leave a half-time scoreline of 13-5.

In blustery conditions Munster kicked for territory in the second half and UL Bohemians hooker Kevin O'Byrne, on his Munster A debut, scored off a driving maul to reduce the gap to 3 points before Buckley touched down for the win.
