Squad Update

The Munster squad returned to their training centres today after a bruising encounter against Leinster at the weekend as preparations begin for Saturday’s Heineken Cup quarter-final against Toulouse at Thomond Park (ko 1:30pm).

The squad will train together tomorrow in Limerick ahead of the crunch clash against the four-time Heineken Cup winners.

Munster A are also in action this weekend as they face Leinster A in the quarter-final of the B&I Cup in Donnybrook on Friday (ko 7pm).

On the injury front, John Ryan returns to training tomorrow after completing the IRB return-to-play protocols after a concussion against Treviso, while Donnacha Ryan continues to be treated for the foot injury he picked up in the same game.

In managing player training loads Munster Captain Peter O’Mahony, who was a late withdrawal on Saturday with a hamstring twinge, will follow a modified training week, and Damien Varley, who was replaced after a previous foot injury flared up, will return to training as the week continues.

Stephen Archer has been ruled out for the next few weeks after sustaining a bulging disc in his neck at training late last week.
