Munster’s European campaign for this season came to an end yesterday with a 24-16 defeat away to Toulon in the Stade Velodrome.

Beautiful weather and one of European rugby’s greatest atmospheres provided the backdrop and soundtrack to a game which saw Munster score the game’s only try, yet also concede too many penalties, Toulon landing seven in total through the boots of Jonny Wilkinson and Delon Armitage.

The jeering of Toulon supporters did little to distract Ian Keatley who kicked three penalties and converted Simon Zebo's try on 54 minutes.
