In Pics: James Coughlan Through The Seasons

Following Tuesday’s announcement that James Coughlan is to leave Munster, see action shots of his time at the province, and snapshots of fan’s appreciation for a true Munster legend.

Having already lost back row Niall Ronan to injury enforced retirement, news of Coughlan’s departure was met with much sadness from Munster supporters around the world.

Coming late to the professional game at the age of 26, Coughlan more than made up for lost time, becoming a stalwart of the Munster back row in 139 appearances, captaining the side on numerous occasions, scoring 13 tries and winning Munster Player of the Year in 2011, with two subsequent nominations in 2012 and 2014.

The last two days has seen an outpouring of mixed emotions on social media, with Munster players, fans and media outlets, while sorry to see him leave, wishing him nothing but the best in his future endeavours;

Past player, Anthony Horgan @AnthonyHorgan
