Munster Rugby Sponsors’ Golf Event

Munster Rugby players, staff and sponsors took advantage of the summer sun for 2014 the Munster Rugby Sponsors’ Golf Day at Fota Island Resort.

The fun event saw 8 teams tee off in a four person scramble with each team also competing in ‘nearest the pin’ and ‘longest drive’ competitions on the 3^rd and 16^th holes respectively.

Munster Rugby hosted the outing to thank sponsors for their continued support of the province, with keen and novice golfers alike enjoying an afternoon of friendly competition on the 18 hole course which is set to host the 2014 Irish Open later this month.

Sponsors in attendance on the day included; Bank of Ireland, adidas, Diageo, Lifestyle Sports, Timberland, Gilbert, Deloitte, Trend Micro, Focus Consulting, Ronan Daly Jermyn, Simply Suits, and Munster Sports Travel.

Following a full afternoon on the course, guests were then treated to a Pre-Dinner Reception kindly sponsored by Diageo in the Spike Bar at the Clubhouse, overlooking the 18th Green, after which dinner was served and prizes were presented in Niblocks Restaurant at the Clubhouse.

Four Person Scramble Winners

1st Place Finishers; Donal Horgan (O'Brien Fine Foods), Dave McHugh (IRFU) and John English (Focus Consulting) with Munster Rugby's Billy Holland, Denis Hurley and Stephen Archer.

2nd Place Finishers; Gary O'Reilly (Gilbert), Fionnuala MacCurtain (Munster Sports Travel) and John Dwyer (Ronan Daly Jermyn).

3rd Place Finishers; John Gilmartin (Deloitte) and Robin Money (adidas).

4th Place Finishers; Garrett Fitzgerald (Munster Rugby), Ron Lehane (Timberland), Ian Fleming (Munster Rugby) and Rory Sheridan (Diageo).

Longest Drive Winner: Mick O'Driscoll (Munster Rugby).

Nearest The Pin Winner: Donal Horgan (O'Brien Fine Foods).
