Fans Show Support For Semi
12th June 2014 By Munster Rugby
Following on from yesterday’s call to #ShowYourSupport, Munster fans have responded in their droves, e-mailing and tweeting good luck messages to the Irish U20s ahead of Sunday’s JWC semi-final showdown.
Captained by Munster’s Jack O’Donoghue, Ireland U20’s play their first ever World Cup semi-final against England U20 on Sunday morning at 6:05 Irish time, with coverage on TG4 and Sky Sports 1.
Munster Squad Captain Peter O’Mahony, himself a former Irish U20 captain, led the call for support on twitter yesterday with Munster Rugby CEO Garrett Fitzgerald also asking supporters from across the province and farther afield to get behind the boys in green.
Jack is joined in the team by fellow Munster players Rory Burke, Max Abbott, Darragh Moloney, Diarmaid Dee, Dan Goggin, Ryan Foley and Alex Wootton, with Munster Rugby Elite Player Development Officer Greig Oliver amongst the coaching staff.
Below is just a sample of the support and good will received for the U20s, with Munster Rugby forwarding all e-mails and tweets to the team in New Zealand.

Hey guys,
It has been a pleasure getting up at 6.30am to support you all at the JWC! I want to congratulate you on your historic achievement and wish the team all the best in the semi-final. I am sure it will be well worth the 6.05am start! You are a credit to your families, clubs and coaches.
I was so impressed by your skill set and team work, especially when down to 13 men v Wales and in the awful conditions v Fiji.
Also looking forward to seeing more of the Munster contingent Jack, Rory, Max, Dan, Alex, Ryan, Darragh and Diarmaid next season – hopefully you will have a medal to show us all at the pre-season friendly in Waterford in August!
We are all behind you as you take on the "ol' enemy" – Shoulder to shoulder, you'll answer Ireland's Call!!

Hi Guys,
Best of luck on Sunday and the remainder of the tournament. Your skill levels are bringing the game to a new level. The scrummaging technique is a lesson for all to take on board.
