Champions Cup Fixtures Announced

The EPCR (European Professional Club Rugby) have today released match fixtures for the pool stages of the inaugural European Champions Cup.

Munster commence Pool 1 action with a 1 o’clock kick-off away to Sale Sharks at the AJ Bell Stadium on Saturday October 18^th, and following a six day turnaround Saracens will become the first side to face the province in Champions Cup action at Thomond Park. Fixed for Friday night the game will have a 7:45pm kick-off.

December sees back to back encounters against Clermont Auvergne, the French outfit making the trip to Thomond Park on 5/6/7 of December, ahead of the return encounter a week later. Munster last faced Clermont in the 2013 Heineken Cup semi-final, the Frenchmen taking the spoils on the day 16-10.

Allianz Park is the provinces’ first European port of call in January, as Munster travel to Saracens on January 15/16/17 before a final pool encounter at home to Sale Sharks on January 23/24/25.

Finalised dates and kick of times for Rounds 3, 4, 5 & 6 will be announced in due course.
