15th October 2014 By Munster Rugby
As the only Irish province drawn away in Round 2, Mick O’Driscoll’s men facing a tough trip to Worcester Warriors in this weekend’s British 7 Irish Cup.
Warriors currently top Pool 3 of the competition and feature former Munster player Paul Warwick in their backroom staff as a support coach, while lock Darren O’Shea completed one year in the Greencore Munster Academy before making the move to the English side.
An impressive performance featuring two tries from Dean Hammond and 16 points from the boot of out-half Tiff Eden, Warriors got off to a winning start against Nottingham and will look record their first win over an Irish side in the competition this weekend, having previously lost 38-23 to Leinster A.
With tries from Ronan O’Mahony and Paddy Butler, Munster A can also boast an inform kicker after Rory Scannell kicked five from five penalties as well as one conversion in last weekend’s 27-21 win over Moseley at Clonmel RFC. The performance also makes Scannell the joint top points scorer in the competition so far.
At times soft in defence and struggling on occasion in the scrum, Munster A will look to right the wrongs of an inconsistent opening performance as they travel to Sixways for a Saturday afternoon kick-off.
