Squad Update

Following a weekend of mixed results, including a dramatic Champions Cup victory in Manchester and a last minute British and Irish Cup defeat in Worcester the full Munster squad met in UL today for a packed schedule of meetings, reviews, light training and media interviews.

After the opening round victory against Sale Sharks on Saturday there were the expected bumps and bruises reported at training today, and no fresh injury concerns to mention.

In the hooker department Head Coach Anthony Foley confirmed that Damien Varley underwent his foot operation in London today, while Niall Scannell (wrist) reported no ill effects after making his first appearance of the season on Saturday against Worcester.

Foley has been in touch with New Zealand based centre Tyler Bleyendaal who is recovering well from his operation undertaken on a disc lesion last month "He sounds in good form and he is well on the road to recovery with Neil Tucker, who would have been here in Munster before and is working with Canterbury. He has started his rehab programme and is going quite well.”

Both the senior and Munster A squad are back in action this Friday with round 2 of the Champions Cup and round 3 of the British and Irish Cup respectively. Munster welcome Saracens to Thomond Park for a 7.45pm kick-off while Mick O'Driscoll's A side will travel to Nottingham for an 8pm kick-off at Meadow Lane.

Tickets are available to buy online here for Friday night's game, with tickets also available from the ticket offices in Musgrave Park and Thomond Park. There are a limited number of north terrace tickets available from €;20 while family terrace packs are available from €;60.
