Wolfhounds Set For Irish Independent Park
28th October 2014 By Munster Rugby
The IRFU has announced that the newly redeveloped Irish Independent Park (formerly Musgrave Park) will host an international friendly between Ireland Wolfhounds and England Saxons.
With the stadium redevelopment on schedule and due for completion at the start of January, Ireland Wolfhounds (formerly Ireland A) will take to the field at Munster Rugby’s Cork venue on Friday January 30th, 2015 – kick-off TBA.
Featuring a mixture of experience and emerging talent on the national scene, Ireland Wolfhounds will look to continue their winning ways over the Saxons having defeated the Englishmen 8-14 at Kingsholm last January.
The fixture also gives fans the chance to experience the stadium upgrades for the first time. A €;3.2m investment from Munster Rugby has seen the overall capacity of the ground increase to 9,500 through the construction of a new West Stand seating 3,500, and comes complete with new catering, shop, toilet and function facilities.
With financial support from the Munster Rugby Supporters Club, the East Terrace has also been covered from endline to endline.
