Murphy Appointed Coach Development Manager

Keith Murphy has recently been appointed to the role of Munster Rugby Coach Development Manager.

Formerly the Coach Development Officer (CDO) for the South Munster Area, Keith will now manage the Provincial Coach Development Programme in Munster.

Keith's responsibilities will include; the development of provincial coaching strategies and programmes in order to develop, deliver and implement quality coaching programmes in clubs and schools with the main emphasis on coach, player and game development in Munster.

A former Irish Schools and Colleges player, Keith first coached at Douglas RFC before moving on to UCC where he coached the U-20s for two seasons followed by one season at Sunday's Well as AIL Head Coach. He also spent two years as the Assistant Coach for the Ireland Women's team.

Since becoming a CDO in 2010, Keith has been the Head Coach of the Munster U-18 Club squad, spent two years as head coach of the Munster U-19s and is the assistant coach with the Munster U-20s this season.

In other staff news, Jane Burns has been appointed to the role of Rugby Development Administrator. Jane, a player with Ballincollig in Division 2 South of the Women’s AIL, will be responsible for the planning, management and implementation of the IRFU Clubhouse IT system. She will also lead the integration with IRFU and Munster Branch development programmes and initiatives.
