Vacancy: Connacht Rugby Domestic Rugby Manager

The IRFU would like to invite applications for the role of Domestic Rugby Manager (Connacht Rugby).
The Domestic Rugby Manager (DRM) will be responsible for the implementation of a Provincial Development Plan and management of the allocated resources, in line with the IRFU Strategy, to increase the number rugby participants in Connacht. On the ground the individual will provide provincial leadership to local rugby clubs and schools.
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience of a Senior executive or Leadership role;
- 'Rugby credibility';
- Worked in a consumer/customer focused, multi stakeholder environment;
- Delivered a strategy with multiple stakeholders;
- A proven track record of delivering results;
- Experience of chairing and leading multi project, multi stakeholders to a successful conclusion.
Personal attributes of the successful candidate will include:
- An outstanding Business Leader who has a love of rugby and an understanding of / empathy for it;
- Outstanding leadership with high emotional intelligence, someone who will enthuse and inspire all the key stakeholders;
- Authoritative, effective, high impact individual and articulate, tactful and open in communicating with others;
- An excellent communicator who is able to communicate strategy to a group of individuals and ensuring understanding;
- A committed and loyal individual, prepared to work the necessary hours and at weekends with the potential for significant travel. Leads in terms of commitment and work ethic by personal example;
- Able to influence and quickly gain credibility with multi-disciplined disparate teams to achieve a common goal;
- An analytical, numerate and disciplined thinker who has the ability to think complex issues through and produce commercially sound judgments;
- The ability to juggle a number of priorities to deliver the right end result.
