Home Run Comes To Cork

Make your voice heard at the new Irish Independent Park in Cork as Munster continue their bid for play-off qualification in the Guinness PRO12, against Benetton Treviso this Saturday at 3.05pm.

Anthony Foley’s men will look to build on the momentum of back to back bonus point wins – at home to Connacht and away to Edinburgh – that have placed them in second on the PRO12 table with just three rounds to go.

Munster host Treviso this weekend, then travel to fellow play-off contenders Ulster a fortnight later, before returning to Cork to face Newport-Gwent Dragons the following week.

Since it’s €;3.2m redevelopment, Irish Independent Park has proven a happy hunting ground for the Men in Red, with two impressive wins over Cardiff Blues and table toppers Glasgow Warriors in February that yielded no less than seven tries between them. As Munster look to continue their rich vein of form on Leeside, Foley’s squad is bolstered by the availability of his returning Irish Internationals, many of whom could make their first appearance at the redeveloped venue this weekend.

Regardless however, the Head Coach expects another stiff challenge this weekend, “Treviso are coming over to us playing for qualification to Europe, I look at Ulster up here and view that as a very tough fixture and I see the Dragons who could become Challenge Cup champions. We've got three quality sides left in the competition, everyone's got something to play for, and it's important we look at it as one game at a time rather than three to go.”

Coupled with the action and drama on the field, will be the carnival atmosphere of a PRO12 matchday in Cork with a wide variety of pre-match entertainment, the Bank Of Ireland Fun Zone for the kids, and a large selection of food options to suit all tastes.

What’s more, you can be there to savour it all from just €;15 for Adults and €;30 for Families (2 adults & 2 kids).

Tickets can be purchased online here, from the Munster Rugby Ticket Offices at Irish Independent Park and Thomond Park, or by calling 0818 719 300.

Guinness PRO12 Final
Meanwhile, The Guinness PRO12 Final on Saturday May 30th at 6.30pm is now sold out with all tickets for public sale now purchased. There are 2,000 tickets allocated for each finalist and a strong demand for those tickets is expected.
