Foley Calls On Your Support

"It’s about good preparation and good support" – the thoughts of Head Coach Anthony Foley as Munster gear up for their most crucial game of the PRO12 season to date, against Newport-Gwent Dragons at Irish Independent Park this Saturday at 3pm. Tickets from EUR20 are on sale now.

With the race for a home semi-final about to reach its climax, just one point separates the top 4 sides on the league table. It’s all to play for on this Super Saturday with all ‘home-semi contenders’ kicking off at the same time. Ulster travel to face Glasgow Warriors, Ospreys make the journey to Connacht, while you can add your voice to the ‘Munster Roar’ as the province hope to make the most of home advantage against Dragons to Cork.

Having experienced an electric atmosphere at the Kingspan Stadium on Saturday, Head Coach Anthony Foley is hoping for a similar cauldron of support from Munster fans this weekend as his side play their final regular league game of the season.

“It won’t be easy against Dragons, but it’s about getting good preparation in and turning up with a big home support in Cork. It’s important to make it as tough a place for them (Dragons) to come.

“We’ll be up for the occasion in Cork. Other results are out of our hands and we’ll have to make sure we do the best for ourselves. No side has ever won an away semi-final – that says it all and emphasises the importance of us doing a job next weekend.

“We don’t know if we’ll get to play in front of home supporters after Saturday’s game, we hope we do, but it will be important to thank fans by putting in a performance and by taking to the field after to thank them, regardless of the result.”
