The IRFU would like to invite applications for the position of IT Administrator. Reporting to the IT Manager, the successful candidate will provide on-going support and cover to the IT Department.
This position is being offered on an initial 2 year full-time, fixed-term contract basis. KEY QUALITIES
Essential:
- Excellent organisational, planning and teamwork skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A good knowledge of MS Office packages, word and excel.
- Qualification in network administration.
Desirable:
- Experience in an IT related role.
- Experience of working in IT projects – testing, requirements etc.
- Experience of working with sports administration systems.
- Experience of user training
RESPONSIBILITIES
IT
- Support IRFU users across standard/customised business applications and devices (e.g. Microsoft Office 2013, anti-virus/anti-spam, iPhones, telephony, printers, spam filtering, backup, Rugby Systems) both face-to-face and remotely via telephone.
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues (LAN based and remote access).
- Equipment deployment and asset tagging of equipment. Stock management of toners and cartridges.
- Windows 2008 Server Active Directory user management.
- Office 365 Exchange/SharePoint/Skype support
- Other tasks related to supporting the technical needs of users in a business environment.
- Provide cover for the IT Manager/Application Analyst when he/she is out of the office for whatever reason (i.e. leave, meetings, project work etc.
- Resolve 1st level tickets in a timely manner
- Escalation/Logging of all 2nd level bugs/issues to IT Vendors

- Maintain effective relationships with various staff within the department/IRFU, branches and clubs.
- Establish efficient work practices.
- Make effective and informed decisions in relation to the role.
- Portray a competent and professional image of the IRFU on behalf of the IT department
