The Munster players were on hand to show their support for Mid-West Spina Bifida and Pieta House this week in Limerick.
Mid-West Spina Bifida Super Hero Parade
Limerick is set to get heroic with the first ever Super Hero Parade in aid of Mid-West Spina Bifida on Sunday, August 23rd. Munster's Donncha O'Callaghan, Gerhard van den Heever and Jordan Coghlan were more than happy to get the message out there this week when meeting parents and children for photos after training in UL.
Starting in Arthurs Quay Park at midday on Sunday, kids, grown-ups and costumes of every kind will parade up O’Connell Street to the People’s Park for music, magic, games and prizes.
The parade will feature street performers, magicians and even a helicopter display with real life local heroes.
A ticket will allow each child admission to the event area at the end of the parade, and automatic entry into the prize draw!
Most importantly the event is being organised to raise funds for Mid-West Spina Bifida Association, which provides services in Limerick, Clare and Tipperary, for those with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus.

Pieta House 100 National Cycle Weekend
While O'Callaghan, van den Heever and Coghlan were busy getting their costumes organised Andrew Conway, Tomás O'Leary and John Ryan joined Pieta House in launching the Limerick leg of the first ever Pieta 100 National Cycle Weekend taking place on Sunday, September 27th.
The cycles, set to become part of the Pieta House fundraising calendar, are also taking place in Cork, Galway and Dublin (TM Cycle). Cyclists will be able to choose from either a 50km or 100km route, both starting at Mungret GAA club, Mungret Village.

The Pieta 100 National Cycle Weekend will raise much needed funds for the nine Pieta House services across the country, as well as raising awareness of the issues of suicide and self-harm. Pieta House hopes that the event will become part of their annual fundraising calendar.
