Vacancy: IRFU Performance Analyst

The IRFU would like to invite applications for the position of Performance Analyst. With the recent expansion of both the Seven’s and Women’s Programs, there is a need for the IRFU to add to its multidisciplinary High Performance team.

Reporting to the IRFU High Performance Analyst and the Director of Sevens and Women’s Rugby, the successful candidate will manage, collate, analyse and present rugby performance information. This unique opportunity is for an experienced Performance Analyst to join the IRFU High Performance Department on a 2 year fixed term contract.

Reporting:

Functionally: IRFU High Performance Analyst
Operationally: Director of Sevens and Women’s Rugby

Location:

The role will be based in Lansdowne Road, Dublin but require extensive worldwide travel. Weekly working hours will be based around the rugby calendar.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Lead and manage the performance analysis of the IRFU Seven’s and Women’s Programs
  • Deliver accurate and concise feedback on opposition teams and players in a both quantitative and qualitative manner
  • Provide accurate and timely visual and statistical reports and reviews to director, coaches and players
  • Monitor performance of current Irish players domestically and internationally and track performances of opposition teams and individuals
  • Maintain the IRFU player database of player and team performance data using SQL database
  • Integrate performance analysis support within the medical, strength and conditioning and mental preparation departments
  • Work in conjunction with strength and conditioning department in the area of GPS validation, integration, tracking and monitoring


The ideal candidate will have:

Essential Criteria:

  • Excellent, applied knowledge of Rugby Union
  • Minimum 3 years working within a professional rugby environment
  • Minimum degree level qualification in Performance Anlaysis / Sport Science or related discipline
  • Expert user of timeline based sports performance analysis software
  • Excellent knowledge of Apple based software and hardware


Desirable:

  • Knowledge of the following software packages is highly desirable
  • Performance Analysis (SportsCode, NacSport, LongoMatch, Dartfish)
  • Apple – Numbers / Keynote / Pages / iBooks
  • Statistical – Excel / SQL / Tableu
  • Post Production – Final Cut Pro / Avid / BlackMagic Design
  • Biomechanics – Dartfish / Quintic

This position is being offered on a 2 year fixed term contract basis with a salary of between €;40k-€;50k per annum (pro-rata) depending on experience & qualifications. The position is based in our Lansdowne Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin office (however there will be travel involved in the role).
